Lovers of
the famous ‘Godfather’ movies are in for a treat on this tour.
We start our movie tour with a scenic drive via
picturesque villages en route passing Taormina and the town of
Roccalumera,
until the historical town
Savoca.
Here you
can visit ‘Bar
Vitelli’,
here you will find memorabilia related the ‘The Godfather II” movie as
many scences from the film where shot here, by
Francis Ford Coppola.
Take to
time wander around this village, visit the churches of Santa Lucia and
San Michele along the main street and from the village you can enjoy
spectacular panoramas of the valley.
After a
lunch break we will continue with our tour and our next stop is
Sant’Alessio. This small village overlooks the
Arab-Norman Castle
know as
the
Capo Sant’Alessio. It was here in 1990 that Al Pacino and Sophia
Coppola shot scenes for
‘The
Godfather III’
hit movie.
You
can explore a few other sites here, including the
Baroque Chiesa Madre Church
and
San Agostino Church
which is reached from a circular stairway leadig from the village piazza.
Our
movie tour comes to and we make our way back to the ship.
